Beth
Hesmer: Loyal AALA Member Gets the Notice She Deserves
By: Melanie Kowal
"When I found out the AALA wanted to write my profile, I thought, 'They must be so sick of me!'" said Beth Hesmer. "They always see me coming and going. I couldn't imagine that they would want to see an article about me."
Despite her disbelief, the members of the Atlanta ALA Chapter are eager to get to know Hesmer even better. A diehard member since 1996, Hesmer makes AALA meetings a priority. In the past, she has served on committees and sat on the board. She is currently serving on the Gene Henson Scholarship Committee.

President's
Message: Jeff Hamrick: Celebrating 30 Years of History
It is an honor for me to assume the role of President this year. It will prove to be an exciting year for us, particularly, as we celebrate our 30th anniversary as an ALA Chapter and fifth year as a Platinum level Chapter. In my 8 years of membership in the Atlanta Association of Legal Administrators, I have always been proud of our efforts to increase the profile of those of us involved in legal management, promote continuing education programs and expand the opportunities to network with others in our every growing community. As President, I look forward to working with you all to continuing on and expanding upon our core values.

What is a new trend, however, is the manner in which teleworking can be interpreted within the framework of the present global economy and of the direct implications of this economy for individual firms.

From the Editor
Welcome
to AALA's 2007 Summer Newsletter! Our AALA Summer may have its
hazy moments, but we certainly can't call it lazy. Already we've
hosted a very successful half-day seminar and participated in Service
Juris. Later this month we can look forward to our Summer Social
and August brings the always anticipated Business Partners Luncheon.
Along the way, our calendar is filled with additional networking
and educational opportunities through our various section meetings.
Please check out the Chapter Calendar for upcoming events.
